Perplexity Computer can now control Comet browser to complete tasks across any logged-in site — no connectors needed
Computer can now take full control of Comet to complete tasks. When you're in Comet, Computer spins up a browser agent that can access any site or logged-in app with your permission, without the need for connectors or MCPs. Available to all Computer users on Comet.
Perplexity released browser agent control for Comet on March 16. When using Comet — Perplexity's browser — Computer can now spin up a browser agent that takes full control of the browser to complete tasks on any website or logged-in application, with user permission. No connectors or MCP integrations are required. The feature is available to all Perplexity Computer users on Comet.
The "no connectors needed" detail is the technical leap. Most AI agents that claim to interact with web applications require API integrations, OAuth flows, or custom connectors built per-service. Perplexity's approach uses the logged-in browser session directly — the agent navigates websites the way a human user would, with the same access the user already has.
